Football Game Preview: Harlandale Indians vs. Tivy Antlers

Harlandale is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will look to defend their home field against the Tivy Antlers at 7:00 p.m. Harlandale's defense has only allowed 11.8 points per game this season, so Tivy's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Last Friday, Harlandale earned a 15-7 win over Jefferson. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

It was another big night for Gio Silva, who rushed for 108 yards and one TD. Those 108 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed nine in total. All came from JOSELUIS FLORES: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tivy). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 50-7 win over Sam Houston. The Antlers' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Tivy found their leader in sophomore Kyrin Armelin, who picked up 162 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Armelin really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 74 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Zavala, who gained 107 total yards and two touchdowns.

Tivy's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Harlandale, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
