Preview: Fairfax Lions vs. Lake Braddock Bruins
Fairfax has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Lake Braddock Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Fairfax focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday.
Fairfax posted their closest win yet this season on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Woodson and snuck past 40-37.
Cam Love continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Thomas, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Lake Braddock, who are still winless after their tenth contest. Their rough 75-54 defeat to Alexandria City on Monday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Lake Braddock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while Alexandria City is ranked 13th).
Fairfax has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Lake Braddock, they bumped their record down to 0-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Fairfax strolled past Lake Braddock in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 52-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairfax since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
