Archangels Catholic came tearing into Tuesday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Central Valley Cougars with points to spare, taking the game 51-32. The Defenders pushed the score to 41-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bentleigh Dugan, who posted ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Dugan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Maggie Kriewald also deserves some recognition as she posted her first blocks of the season.

Archangels Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Central Valley, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-16.
