Volleyball Recap: Thomas Maclaren School Falls to Florence in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Thomas MacLaren School unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Florence Huskies by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Highlanders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Thomas MacLaren School sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 14-25, 15-13.

Sara Christensen paced Thomas MacLaren School's offense, picking up 20 kills. Christensen got some help from Evelyn Divine and her 26 assists.

The win got Florence back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Thomas MacLaren School will welcome Liberty Tree Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Florence, they will square off against Cotopaxi at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
