Soccer Game Preview: Moon Valley vs. Thunderbird

The Moon Valley Rockets will head out to take on the Thunderbird Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Moon Valley will be strutting in after a win while Thunderbird will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Moon Valley turned things around against Shadow Mountain on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Matadors a 6-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what the Rockets needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.

Meanwhile, Thunderbird's game on Monday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Greenway by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, the Titans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

With the defeat, Thunderbird broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-5-2. As for Moon Valley, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9.

Moon Valley came up short against Thunderbird when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 4-2. Can Moon Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
