The Mary Persons Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Sandy Creek Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mary Persons lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Spalding, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Bulldogs never let the Jaguars get on the board and left with a 26-0 win on Friday. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 24-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars had little chance of recovering from.

CJ Banks had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 108 yards and three TDs. Mary Persons is undefeated when Banks posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mary Persons was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.
Mary Persons didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Deaven Davis, Sam Harrell, and Jarvis Holloway picked up one apiece. That interception marked the first that Harrell has snagged this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sandy Creek). They claimed a resounding 62-21 victory over Whitewater. The win was just business as usual for the Patriots, who after eight games remain undefeated this season.
Mary Persons better keep an eye on Amari Latimer. He was instrumental in Sandy Creek's win, rushing for 287 yards and seven scores while picking up 15.1 yards per carry. Latimer is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 104 every time he's taken the field this season. Caleb Hill was another key player, throwing for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Mary Persons' record is now 5-3. As for Sandy Creek, their record now sits at 8-0.
Mary Persons beat Sandy Creek 37-29 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Latimer, who rushed for 119 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries, and also picked up 40 receiving yards and one score. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Bulldogs still be able to contain Latimer? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
