Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Bethany Christian

Bethany Christian had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Faith Baptist Eagle 56-54. This was a revenge game for Bethany Christian: when they faced off against Faith Baptist back in December of 2024, they had to take a 57-44 defeat.

Leading Bethany Christian to victory were Luca Halalau and Nathaniel Byers. Halalau dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Byers posted 21 points. Byers' evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Micah Wise was another key player, putting up nine points.

Bethany Christian pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Faith Baptist, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-6.

Bethany Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 71-50 victory against CHASE on the 21st. As for Faith Baptist, they will venture away from home to square off against Juniata Christian at 7:45 p.m. on January 24th.
