Softball Recap: Ingram Moore Drops Highest Score of Season Against Leakey

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ingram Moore). Everything went their way against the Leakey Eagles on Tuesday as the Ingram Moore Warriors made off with a 19-9 win. The victory was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on three straight.

Ingram Moore got a massive performance out of Jaycee Crawley, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave Crawley a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Priscilla Cancino, who scored four runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-3.

Crawley wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Ingram Moore kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for Ingram Moore: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.4.

Ingram Moore pushed their record up to 6-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Leakey, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ingram Moore will head out to face off against Blanco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Leakey, they will face off against Mason at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Leakey has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
