Greenfield dropped their record down to 16-8 on Sunday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Pioneer Valley Regional Panthers, falling 8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Green Wave have suffered since May 14th.

As for Pioneer Valley Regional, the win keeps they at an undefeated 25-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average this season.

For Pioneer Valley Regional's part, Ben Werner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Werner has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Alex McClelland was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jackson Glazier, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
