Baseball Game Preview: Middletown Blue Raiders vs. Northern Lebanon Vikings

The Middletown Blue Raiders will venture away from home to challenge the Northern Lebanon Vikings at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Northern Lebanon took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Middletown, who comes in off a win.

While Blue Raiders fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They came out on top against Eastern Lebanon County by a score of 9-6 on Tuesday.

Ben Nordai looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Michael Swartz and J.P. Horetsky did most of the damage at the plate: Swartz scored a run while going 4-for-5, while Horetsky scored two runs while going 2-for-4. George Hartwick was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Middletown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Northern Lebanon might've scored the first runs on Wednesday, but it was Conestoga Valley who claimed the real prize. Northern Lebanon took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Conestoga Valley. The loss was the Vikings' first of the season.

Northern Lebanon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Stoltz, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
