Softball Recap: Iola-Scandinavia Comes Up Short

Iola-Scandinavia suffered their closest loss since May 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Shiocton Chiefs by a score of 5-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chiefs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in April.

Iola-Scandinavia saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maya Munoz, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Iola-Scandinavia's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Shiocton, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.

Coincidentally, Iola-Scandinavia and Shiocton will both be playing Wittenberg-Birnamwood the next time they take the field. The Thunderbirds will head out to face the Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Chiefs will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
