Softball Recap: Nettleton's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Nettleton waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Amory Panthers by a score of 14-9. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 10-5 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.

Zyah Gunter was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Bates, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Nettleton's record now sits at 21-2-1. As for Amory, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

Nettleton is taking a road trip to take on Mooreville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Amory, they will host Potts Camp at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cardinals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
