Volleyball Recap: Mount Union Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Mount Union was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Williamsburg last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans came up short against the McConnellsburg Spartans on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2018.

Despite the defeat, Mount Union saw an underclassman step up: freshman Harper McCormick had six digs and four aces. McCormick has been hot recently, having posted three or more aces the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lily Hicks, who had four digs and two aces.

Mount Union's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for McConnellsburg, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Mount Union has already played their next match (against Tussey Mountain), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for McConnellsburg, they will welcome James Buchanan at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
