Softball Game Preview: Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Red Raiders vs. Mahanoy Area Golden Bears

The Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Red Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Mahanoy Area Golden Bears at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Our Lady of Lourdes Regional has given up an average of 13.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Our Lady of Lourdes Regional's offense. They came up short against North Schuylkill on Wednesday, falling 15-0. The Red Raiders just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Our Lady of Lourdes Regional saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arianna Adams, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Mahanoy Area made sure to put some runs up on the board against Nativity BVM on Wednesday. The Golden Bears were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Green Wave. The result was nothing new for the Golden Bears, who have now won five matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Mahanoy Area got a massive performance out of Ella Connolly, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Connolly a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Killian, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI and one run.

Mahanoy Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Mahanoy Area's record now sits at 6-10. As for Our Lady of Lourdes Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Our Lady of Lourdes Regional suffered a grim 28-12 defeat to Mahanoy Area in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can the Red Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
