The Seton Hall Prep Pirates will square off against the Irvington Blue Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither Seton Hall Prep nor Irvington posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Seton Hall Prep came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by Don Bosco Prep and fell 40-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Ironmen: they've now lost five in a row.

Seton Hall Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Michael Hug and Sean Hayes. Hug is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least seven every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Irvington was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 7-6 to Union City.

Irvington's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-5. As for Seton Hall Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Seton Hall Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Irvington in their previous meeting back in September of 2023, winning 23-12. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
