Baseball Recap: Cedar Bluff Drops Season-High Score on Ragland

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cedar Bluff). They never let the Ragland Purple Devils get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.

Kolwyn Morrison looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Hunter Stallings was a standout: he scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Samson Mallett, who scored four runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Cedar Bluff was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in five consecutive games.

Cedar Bluff's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Ragland, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Bluff will head out to face off against Chattooga at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ragland, they will venture away from home to take on Altamont at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
