It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Jesuit ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with an 86-76 win over the Sumner Stingrays. The Tigers' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jesuit to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mike McLendon, who shot 69% from the field en route to 24 points along with six assists and five boards. Those 24 points gave McLendon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Damien Ross, who went 8-for-14 to rack up 21 points and eight rebounds.

Sumner's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bennard Anson, who shot 43% from the field on his way to 21 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Miles Moore was another key player, going 7-for-11 en route to 17 points and five rebounds.

Jesuit's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Sumner, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jesuit will take on Wiregrass Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Bulls have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Sumner, they will venture away from home to challenge Newsome at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
