Baseball Game Preview: Hudsonville Eagles vs. Forest Hills Central Rangers

The Hudsonville Eagles will face off against the Forest Hills Central Rangers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hudsonville is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.

On Tuesday, Hudsonville narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Coopersville 2-1.

Jack VanRegenmorter looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four matchups.

At the plate, Parker Groenink was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last 11 contests.

Meanwhile, Forest Hills Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against East Kentwood on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 11-7 to the Falcons.

Hudsonville pushed their record up to 28-7-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Forest Hills Central, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-13.

Hudsonville couldn't quite finish off Forest Hills Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 10-8. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
