Basketball Game Preview: Teays Valley Vikings vs. Pickerington Central Tigers

The Teays Valley Vikings will venture away from home to take on the Pickerington Central Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Teays Valley is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Thursday, Teays Valley lost to Newark at home by a 50-33 margin. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 418th, while the Wildcats are ranked 80th).

Meanwhile, Pickerington Central took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 73-9 win over Groveport-Madison. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Pickerington Central pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.3 points per game. As for Teays Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Teays Valley was taken down by Pickerington Central 61-27 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Teays Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
