Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maple Grove). They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Edina Hornets on Thursday. The Crimson have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hornets, too.

The win made it two in a row for Maple Grove and bumps their season record up to 7-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Edina, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maple Grove will face off against Mounds View at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Edina, they will take on Washburn at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Millers have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
