Basketball Recap: Center Comes Up Short

Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 56-16 loss at the hands of the Lincoln College Prep Blue Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 459th, while the Blue Tigers are ranked 225th).

Lincoln College Prep found their leader in freshman Amaja Hemmings, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hemmings has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dashion Andrews, who posted eight points and three steals.

Center's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Lincoln College Prep, their win bumped their record up to 8-11.

Center has already played their next contest (against Clinton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lincoln College Prep will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kauffman at 5:30 p.m. on February 17th.
