Baseball Game Preview: PikeView Panthers vs. Sissonville Indians

The PikeView Panthers will head out to challenge the Sissonville Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. PikeView is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, PikeView didn't have quite enough to beat Greenbrier East and fell 3-2. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Bryson Bailey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Trenton Tolliver was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, while Sissonville put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Ravenswood. The Indians were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Red Devils. The high-scoring effort was just what the Indians needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Sissonville pushed their record up to 17-7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for PikeView, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-11.

PikeView suffered a grim 12-3 defeat to Sissonville in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
