Basketball Game Preview: Rocky River Ravens vs. Mooresville Blue Devils

The Rocky River Ravens and the Mooresville Blue Devils will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Rocky River is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 75-67 victory over North Iredell on Friday.

Rocky River's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Ross, who went 9 of 22 en route to 22 points along with seven assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Walton, who posted 13 points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds.

Ross wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Rocky River was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Mooresville entered their tilt with Community School of Davidson on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They strolled past the Spartans with points to spare, taking the game 70-55. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Spartans are ranked 371st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mooresville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Rocky River, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
