Basketball Game Preview: Celina Bobcats vs. Lake Dallas Falcons

The Celina Bobcats will challenge the Lake Dallas Falcons at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Celina has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight defeats, while Lake Dallas will come in with four straight wins.

It was a proper cat-fight when Celina took on Panther Creek on Friday. 2025 welcomed Celina with a 70-46 loss courtesy of Panther Creek. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 380th, while the Panthers are ranked 83rd).

Sanger typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Lake Dallas proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 32-29 victory over the Indians.

Celina better keep an eye on Maizen Gillam. She was instrumental in Lake Dallas' win, putting up 19 points and six rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Gillam has scored at least a third of Lake Dallas' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Scott, who posted seven points and three blocks.

Lake Dallas has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Celina, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Celina suffered a grim 63-39 defeat to Lake Dallas when the teams last played back in November of 2019. Can Celina avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
