Baseball Game Preview: Fairhope Pirates vs. Daphne Trojans

For the second straight game, Fairhope will face off against Daphne. The Pirates will welcome the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Fairhope 3.9, Daphne 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Fairhope's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over Daphne. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 20, 2023, but that streak is no more.

The result came thanks to Harrison Cook's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Fairhope's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rock Gearhart, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Fairhope's win bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Daphne, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-13.
