Volleyball Recap: Deer Trail Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Deer Trail was the 3-1 winner over Kiowa when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles came up short against the Indians on Friday, falling 3-0. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-15, 25-6.

Megan Donovan paced Deer Trail's offense, picking up five kills. Donovan got some help from Vailini Samate and her five assists. Finally, Donovan was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Kiowa found their leader in freshman Emery Kelly, who had seven digs and three aces.

Deer Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Kiowa, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Deer Trail didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Cotopaxi on the 25th. As for Kiowa, they will face off against Prairie at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
