Recap: Columbia Blue Devils vs. Shaker Bison

Even though the Columbia Blue Devils have not done well against the Shaker Bison recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Columbia enjoyed a cozy 57-42 win over Shaker. The victory was nothing new for Columbia as they're now sitting on five straight.

Several Bison players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Peyton Hoblock, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Giada Lanni, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.

Columbia's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Shaker, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia is on the road again on Friday and plays Ballston Spa at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. As for Shaker, they will challenge Schenectady at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Shaker is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Schenectady in New York (Shaker is ranked 39th, while Schenectady is ranked 459th).
