Softball Game Preview: Boone Grove Wolves vs. Andrean Fighting 59ers

The Boone Grove Wolves will take on the Andrean Fighting 59ers at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Andrean took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Boone Grove, who comes in off a win.

Boone Grove was handed a 12-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past Wheeler 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted against the Bearcats since May 23, 2018.

Madison Kaufman was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zoey Powell, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Andrean unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak last Friday. They fell 6-2 to Valparaiso.

Aubrey Grasha was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Andrean's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Boone Grove, their win bumped their record up to 15-12.

Boone Grove was able to grind out a solid victory over Andrean when the teams last played back in April of 2023, winning 7-3. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Fighting 59ers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
