Soccer Recap: Pace Takes a Loss

If Pace was feeling good fresh off their 4-1 takedown of Milton on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots lost 8-0 to the Booker T. Washington Wildcats on Monday. Pace were red-hot offensively heading into the matchup (they scored no less than four goals in the three contests prior), but Booker T. Washington's defense proved too tough.

Pace was without their leading scorer, AJ Bon Jorno, in Monday's match. With Bon Jorno sidelined, the Patriots had to make some changes to the lineup. Mark McCright played for 44 minutes having averaged 20.6 this season and Caleb Barrigan got 75 vs. an average of 48.4.

The defeat snapped Pace's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 4-2-1 record. As for Booker T. Washington, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-1-2.

Pace has already played their next contest, a 4-1 loss against Navarre on the 18th. As for Booker T. Washington, they will be playing at home against Pensacola at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Booker T. Washington will be up against Pensacola's rather soft defense (which has allowed 6.75 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
