Softball Recap: Winthrop Takes a Loss

Winthrop lost against Swampscott back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Vikings took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Big Blue. The Vikings just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Winthrop saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucy Boncore, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Winthrop's record is now 3-10. As for Swampscott, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winthrop will face off against Masconomet Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chieftains have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Swampscott, they will head out to take on Peabody Veterans Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
