Volleyball Recap: Davidson Fine Arts Comes Up Short

After flying high against Johnson last Saturday, Davidson Fine Arts came back down to earth. The Titans lost 3-0 to the Academy of Richmond County Musketeers on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Musketeers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Davidson Fine Arts took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-12, 25-16.

Julika Cunningham paced Davidson Fine Arts' offense, picking up five kills. Cunningham got some help from Jane Pennington and her 11 assists. Finally, Evelyn Shaw kept Davidson Fine Arts' defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Davidson Fine Arts has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 22-20 record this season. As for Academy of Richmond County, they pushed their record up to 32-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home.

As of now, neither Davidson Fine Arts nor the Musketeers have any future games scheduled.
