Soccer Game Preview: Addison Trail vs. Hinsdale South

The Addison Trail Blazers will head out on the road to challenge the Hinsdale South Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Addison Trail proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their defense stepped up to hand Elmwood Park a 1-0 shutout. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Addison Trail were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Hinsdale South had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Mustangs. The game was the first time Hinsdale South have beaten Downers Grove South on their pitch since April 11, 2017.

Addison Trail has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those nine games. As for Hinsdale South, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3.
