Softball Recap: Anderson Drops Highest Score of Season Against Weed

Anderson came into this matchup off a tough 17-run loss last Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Weed Cougars by a score of 16-14 on Monday. On the bright side, the 14- run effort marked the Cubs' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Caydence Dial made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole six bases while going 3-for-4. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Dominique Crandall also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Anderson dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Weed, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9-1.

Anderson has already played their next game, a 23-3 defeat against West Valley on the 8th. Weed has also already played their next contest (against Etna), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
