Baseball Recap: Carroll Comes Up Short

Carroll suffered their biggest defeat since February 29, 2024 on Friday. They lost 12-2 to the Opp Bobcats. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Carroll saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Baxter, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Baxter is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Holton Smith was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases.

Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Opp, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carroll will challenge Pike Liberal Arts at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Opp, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Houston Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
