Baseball Recap: Calhoun Academy's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Calhoun Academy waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Marvell Academy Eagles a 12-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Layton Logan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

In other batting news, Kaden Denton was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Carsen Stegall was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Calhoun Academy pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Calhoun Academy will face off against Lee Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marvell Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Cougars' game: after the Cougars faces off against Delta Academy, they'll take on Marvell Academy again at 6:00 p.m. on the 17th.
