League recap: West Lafayette tops Twin Lakes to extend winning streak

Adding to the longest winning streak in Hoosier this week, West Lafayette beat Twin Lakes 49-28. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.

Tipton and Sheridan played the most contested game in the league this week, with Tipton eventually emerging with a 27-24 victory.

West Lafayette's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Parker Ronchetto threw for 272 and 2 touchdowns and Brandon Watt had 162 yards receiving. On the ground Maurice Woodard chipped in 119 yards. Everett Gorup helped West Lafayette's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 48 yards.

Wyatt Johnson made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Indians fell to Shane Fry's team. The 5-foot-5 junior recorded 1 fumble.

Woodard was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 119 yards on 23 carries as the Red Devils defeated Twin Lakes. Teammate Ronchetto added to the ground attack by rushing for 93 yards.

West Lafayette's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Red Devils feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ronchetto has thrown for 1,454 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Travis Rolle has 29 catches for 412 yards.

An important game coming up in Hoosier this week will be when Lafayette Central Catholic takes on Rensselaer Central. At the moment, the Knights are in third, while the Bombers are in second.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Lafayette Central Catholic takes on Rensselaer Central. Kevin O'Shea's team has allowed 75 points this season, while Chris Meeks' team has given up 60. The Knights allowed 26 points last week as they bested Indianapolis Broad Ripple.

The Bombers took down Delphi Community 55-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dylan Wright threw for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 67 yards in the win.
