Recap: St. Mary's Rams vs. Rocklin Thunder
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the St. Mary's Rams can now relate to. They took a 17-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunder on Saturday. St. Mary's loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
Samson Hunkin threw for 191 yards and a touchdown. Kenneth Moore iii was his top target, picking up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Rocklin found their leader in underclassman Reeve Slone, who rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Rocklin, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.
St. Mary's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rocklin will look to defend their home field on Friday against Grant at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Grant's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine contests.
