Baseball Recap: Elkhart Takes a Loss

Elkhart was the 1-0 winner over Teague when they last played one another on April 1st, but their luck changed this time around. The Elks took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions on Tuesday.

Coyt Cooper was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. He has become a key player for Elkhart: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 8-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Callyn Franklin, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Elkhart has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season. As for Teague, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-7.

As of now, neither Elkhart nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
