Softball Recap: Kingman Academy's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Kingman Academy entered their tilt with Prescott on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Badgers with a sharp 15-2 win. Considering the Tigers have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Emily Mathys made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Mathys was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI.

In other batting news, Taylee Mote was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Caidyn Padilla was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.

Kingman Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .487. They are undefeated (8-0) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Kingman Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-3-1. As for Prescott, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Kingman Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 19-0 win against Wickenburg on the 24th. As for Prescott, they will square off against Coconino at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coconino's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Prescott's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
