Football Game Preview: Wilson Memorial Green Hornets vs. Waynesboro Little Giants

The Wilson Memorial Green Hornets will venture away from home to square off against the Waynesboro Little Giants at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilson Memorial will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Friday, Wilson Memorial blew past Staunton, posting a 42-7 victory. The Green Hornets' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Clinton Coffey had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 95 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries.

Coffey was just one part of a punishing run game: Wilson Memorial was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 282 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Staunton only rushed for 128.

Meanwhile, Waynesboro was beaten by Buffalo Gap 37-7 on Friday. The Little Giants have struggled against the Bison recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Waynesboro's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Wilson Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Everything came up roses for Wilson Memorial against Waynesboro in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 51-14 victory. In that contest, the Green Hornets amassed a halftime lead of 37-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
