Volleyball Recap: Rockville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Putnam last Saturday, Rockville came back down to earth. The Rams lost 3-0 to the Wolcott RVT Wildcats on Monday. The Rams were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

While Rockville ultimately came up short, they really made Wolcott RVT work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 27-25, 25-21.

Rockville's offense was headlined by Alex Angeli and Lucas Britney, who picked up 13 kills apiece. They got some help from Tibor Elcsics and his 36 assists. Finally, Britney was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Rockville's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Wolcott RVT, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockville will venture away from home to face off against Farmington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wolcott RVT, they will head out to square off against Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
