Recap: Indianapolis Washington Continentals vs. Mooresville Pioneers
The Indianapolis Washington Continentals fell victim to the Mooresville Pioneers''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 55-0 defeat at the hands of the Pioneers. While losing is never fun, Indianapolis Washington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Mooresville is ranked 54th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mooresville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christopher Korthuis, who rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Korthuis was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards. Levi Dorn was in the mix as well, providing Mooresville with two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Mooresville's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Indianapolis Washington's QB won't forget Hunter Bennett anytime soon given Bennett sacked him six times.
Indianapolis Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Mooresville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.
Indianapolis Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mooresville will be playing in front of their home fans against Roncalli at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
