The Upperman Bees will take on the Beech Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
On Wednesday, Upperman was able to grind out a solid win over Stone Memorial, taking the game 5-2.

Julian Llano made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).
Llano wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rookie Allison, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Chase Brown also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Upperman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Beech made easy work of Riverdale on Tuesday and carried off a 13-5 victory. The Buccaneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Jackson Jennings looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Jack Douglass was incredible, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kaden Powell, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
Upperman pushed their record up to 4-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Beech, their record is now 7-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Upperman has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Beech struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
