Basketball Recap: Jayden Beyan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Concord over Robinson

Concord lost against Robinson back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Concord Spiders lost 78-56 to the Robinson Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Spiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 86th).

Concord lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jayden Beyan, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points and three steals. Beyan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tyvonta Rushmeyer, who posted 16 points.

Da'Montre Harlee had a dynamite game for Robinson, going 6 of 7 en route to 19 points and six boards. What's more, Harlee also posted a 86% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Jarrell Reid was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Concord's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Robinson, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Concord has already played their next game, a 73-72 victory against Carson on the 7th. As for Robinson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-66 win against Northwest Cabarrus on the 7th.
