Basketball Recap: Friona Comes Up Short

Friona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 47-26 to the Slaton Tigers. If the Chieftans were looking for revenge after losing 58-33 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Friona's record now sits at 8-8. As for Slaton, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

When Friona and Slaton next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Friona will try to stop Shallowater's three-game winning streak when the meet at 12:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Similarly, Slaton will try to stop Idalou's four-game winning streak when the meet at 5:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
