Football Recap: East Longmeadow Falls to Foxborough in First Game of Season

East Longmeadow kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Foxborough Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Warriors are ranked 18th).

East Longmeadow's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kevin Baker, who threw for 249 yards and a pair of TDs. Jake Robidoux was another key receiver, picking up 123 receiving yards and one score.

Coming up, East Longmeadow will look to defend their home field on Friday against Agawam at 7:00 p.m. The match will give the Spartans their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Foxborough, they will head out to challenge Walpole at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
