Baseball Recap: Kindred Falls Short Against Ranked Lisbon

Kindred faced Lisbon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Vikings fell 5-2 to the Broncos.

Jack McDonald spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kindred saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylan Swenson, who went 1-for-4 with one run. Brock Johnson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Kindred's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Lisbon, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Kindred will head out to square off against Oak Grove Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lisbon, they will take on Oakes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Broncos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tornadoes have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
