Basketball Recap: KACHEA Takes a Loss

KACHEA lost against Mountain Mission back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Challengers by a score of 42-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since December 21, 2024.

Despite the loss, KACHEA still got an impressive performance from Andrew Joyner, who went 6-for-7 on his way to 14 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Joyner is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 14 games he's played dating back to last season. Gabe Hicks was another key player, putting up seven points.

KACHEA is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. As for Mountain Mission, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, KACHEA won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Clinton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will be up against the Dragons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mountain Mission, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 80-53 defeat against West Ridge on the 24th.
