Softball Recap: Valley Christian's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Valley Christian waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Thatcher Eagles 14-3. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Leigha Kremlacek was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Ryann Nelson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lo Sloan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Valley Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thatcher only posted an OBP of .375.

Valley Christian pushed their record up to 17-2-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Thatcher, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Valley Christian has already played their next game, an 11-1 victory against Snowflake on the 11th. As for Thatcher, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 17-1 loss against Tanque Verde on the 10th.
