Basketball Recap: North Edgecombe's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

On Saturday, the North Edgecombe Warriors came up short against the West Craven Eagles and fell 57-45. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Edgecombe's loss came despite strong showings from Jamauri Cannady and Jahmir Parker. Cannady posted 18 points, while Parker put up 16 points.

It was another big night for Jimmie West Lll, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds for West Craven. With that strong performance, West Lll is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Another player making a difference was Cedric Somme, who earned 11 points and five rebounds.

North Edgecombe's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3. As for West Craven, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

North Edgecombe will take on SouthWest Edgecombe in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Craven and Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech will compete for holiday cheer at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Craven is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season.
